The Beast from the East and The Pest from the West.


The snow prevented us from getting volunteers and clients into Dover Street as the transport services we use considered it dangerous to travel off main roads and social services advised everyone not to travel. Some members of our dedicated staff did manage to walk into Dover Street. Its not until the snow falls that you realise Dover Street is a hill.


Emergency Food for the Elderly.


With the help of the District Nursing team and Adult Social Care more than 20 elderly families were delivered emergency provisions to keep them nourished during the bad weather. We thank members of the public for donating the food to our collection points, the main point being at the Sainsburys Colton store. Donated items are collected on a regular basis as and when the trolley fills up. If you would like to donate any non perishable items they can be left at the NET trolley just inside the Sainsburys stores entrance or at NET Dover Street during office hours.


Our most remote clients at Garforth Cliff were supported by their neighbours and NET volunteers during the atrocious conditions.

Clients have just returned from one of our trips to Thompsons followed by a scenic ride in the spring sunshine???

Volunteers receive First aid certificates after latest training day.  


Thanks to the Red Cross for providing another successful training day. All attending received their certificates of competence.

Fact….Did You Know : last year ( 2017 ) NET provided……


11088 Two course hot meals and drinks at its luncheon clubs. We assisted with transport for many who attended.   


32400 Cups of Tea and Coffee along with sandwiches and cakes (Too many to count) at its Dover Street Events


33.5 Kg of assorted biscuits and that's a lot of biscuits, at our events.


300 Bags of Pop Corn   -   420 Hot Dogs  -  and 160 Ice Creams at its cinema days.


The out and about group walked  78 Kilometres on its outings ………  requiring a lot of refreshments.


We are always looking for volunteers, especially those who can help with transport. If you are interested in helping out please contact our volunteer coordinator. You will find it very rewarding and an interesting experience.
