Your Cream Tea From NET has Arrived.

This is a new venture we hope our luncheon club members enjoy ! From the reaction we have received after our first week of deliveries to 170 addresses in our area it is a resounding success and growing rapidly. We operate fourteen Luncheon Clubs and during Covid 19 sadly these have had to temporarily close. During July we are delivering afternoon teas along with a Luncheon Club bulletin, a mixture of personal messages to friends, jokes, poems and stories, sharing loving kindness within the groups.
Billie 6 & Lola 9 from Kippax pledged to ride ‘100 miles in May’ to raise money for the NET Foodbank to support those in need during the Covid 19 pandemic. They wanted to raise the money with a target of raising £250 - They SMASHED the target by raising in excess of £1800 . A big thank you to Billie 6 & Lola 9 from Kippax (and their Dad) from all those who received support from NET over recent weeks. Thank you again Billie & Lola from Monica, Staff, Volunteers & all who have received food parcels over recent weeks. You deserved the reception from those in your Avenue who cheered you across the finish line. I
Thank all of you who nominated NET for a Movement for Good Award. We were successful due to your nominations and £1000 was given to NET. The movement for good award will enable us to continue to purchase basic food items, deliver food parcels to those most in need and continue our telephone befriending service. This service is certainly relieving the panic, anxiety and distress to those most vulnerable in our community during the Covid 19 crisis and what will follow in the aftermath. Due to the nature of the crisis it is hard to estimate how many people will benefit, but it will certainly assist NET to continue, move forward and returning to its core function of supporting the over 65’s and their carers. hank you to everyone who nominated us.
NET Volunteers continue to support our clients by initially delivering afternoon teas to those who used to meet up for lunch. The clients are missing the social contact and really appreciate the volunteers delivering lovely food. We continue to receive many messages of thanks for what NET has done in supporting the community during the Covid 19 lockdown. We really appreciate them. We intend to roll out more initiative’s as the year progresses. Please continue to stay safe and obey government guidelines Stay alert We can all help control the virus if we all stay alert. This means you must: Stay at home as much as possible Limit contact with other people Keep your distance from people not in your household (2 metres apart where possible) Wash your hands regularly Wear Face Covering if you go on Public Transport and in Shops & Supermarkets
